Pioneer Equine Hospital has always prided itself in having clinicians that have extensive training and expertise in evaluating lameness in horses under a wide variety of disciplines within the equine industry. We offer a complete and comprehensive lameness diagnostic service that provides advanced and state-of-the-art care for the equine athlete. From poor performance evaluations and blocking exams to localize the lameness, we take our time to get to the bottom of it.

We also offer cutting edge treatment modalities including shockwave Class IV therapeutic laser. Treatment with this class of laser has been shown to increase the rate and qualitfy of healing in soft tissue injuries. Additionally, we use it to relieve pain and support musculature of the back and neck. It is also great for wound healing!

Here at the clinic, we can process and treat your horse with a variety of regenerative medicine products such as Interluekin-1 Receptor Antagonist Protein (IRAP), stem cell therapy, platelet rich plasma (PRP), ProStride, Alpha-2-EQ, Arthramid, and numerous others than can be ordered on a case by case basis. This allows us to customize a plan based on your horse’s needs, injury, discipline, and more.

Our world class facility includes a 140 x 300 foot covered arena where horses can be evaluated in hand and under saddle on both firm and soft surfaces. When hauling into the clinic, we can take considerable time getting the bottom of lameness issue that may only present themselves when under saddle. Our clinicians experience with a variety of displines allows us to customize diagnostics and treatments based on your horse.

Extracorpeal Shockwave Therapy is a modality used to reduce pain and treat soft tissue injuries to increase the quality of healing. It can work synergistically with our orthobiologic therapies to get your horse on the road to healing.

With our stat-of-the-art Sound radiograph equipement, we can take high quality images of the limbs as well as the axial skeleton (neck and back) with our overhead generator. Images are reviewed by multiple clinicians here at the clinic with extensive training in these diagnostics.
